December is a time for pre-Christmas shopping and increased online activity \u2013 unfortunately, it\u2019s also a period when online fraudsters step up their activities. Among the most common threats are phishing (impersonating banks, courier companies or shops) and fake promotions and \u2018bargains\u2019 designed to trick people into clicking on a suspicious link or providing their details. Older people are often targeted by such attacks, which is why digital security is particularly important at this time of year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first online course is now available on the SILWERS project website: \u2018Phishing \u2013 don\u2019t fall for online scammers!\u2019. The course is currently available in two languages \u2013 Polish and English \u2013 but further language versions (Greek, Icelandic and Czech) will be released shortly to support the widest possible audience in building digital security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
