In May, the University of Economics in Katowice<\/a> organised a lecture entitled \u2018Internet Safety for Senior Citizens\u2019, delivered by Dr <\/a>Paulina Rutecka<\/a> as part of the SILWERS project.

Participants from the University of the Third Age at the University of Economics in Katowice learnt about the risks associated with modern technologies and took part in a study led by Dr <\/a>Karina Cicha<\/a> and Prof. <\/a>Artur Strzelecki<\/a>. The aim of the study was to identify key areas for the safe use of the internet by older people.
As Dr Karina Cicha emphasises:
\u201cWe are delighted by the seniors\u2019 openness and their willingness not only to share their observations about the internet, but above all by their interest in the project itself, which they see as an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the technology they want or need to use on a daily basis.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
