About the project
SILWERS (Seniors Artificial Intelligence Learning – Well Educated and Risk Secure) is a three-year project running since November 2024, aimed at supporting seniors in developing AI-related competencies and increasing their resilience to digital threats. The project responds to the growing challenges of digitalization and AI development, focusing on the digital inclusion of seniors and education in the field of online security.
As part of the project, educational and training activities tailored to the needs of older people are planned: training modules on AI basics, practical workshops, e-learning materials, and tools raising awareness of cybersecurity. The activities will be designed with accessibility in mind, using simple language and formats that facilitate self-directed learning (online courses, guides, support sessions). The expected result is an increase in participants’ digital skills and an improvement in their confidence in the safe use of AI-based solutions.
The project is implemented through an international partnership led by Háskólinn á Akureyri (Iceland). The other partners include: the University of Economics in Katowice (Poland), Social Cooperative Enterprise Drosostalida (Greece), Vzdelavaci centrum Hello s.r.o. (Czech Republic), and TSecurity ehf (Iceland). This collaboration will enable the exchange of best practices, the joint development of teaching materials, and the piloting of solutions across the various partner countries.
The target audience includes seniors interested in digitalization, as well as organizations and institutions working in adult education — particularly those wishing to incorporate AI literacy and digital security into their offerings. The project also envisions dissemination activities (webinars, publications, toolkits), ensuring that the materials will be accessible to a wide range of recipients.
The project is funded by the Erasmus+ program, KA220-ADU – Cooperation partnerships in adult education.
