In May, we conducted a survey amongst older educators in Greece. Nearly 60 older adults took part, sharing their insights on the difficulties they face when using the internet on a daily basis, as well as their concerns about online risks. This is the first stage of the SILWERS project, which addresses the real educational needs of older people in a rapidly changing digital world. As Sofia Tsiortou, head of the Greek project team, notes: “Our meeting with older people is the first step towards achieving the objectives of the SILWERS project. The next stages will involve meetings with both educators and local authorities to better understand the needs of our target group.” Thanks to the commitment of our international partners and the active participation of both older people and educators, we will develop modern and practical educational materials that will enhance the digital safety and skills of older people.
