Workshops with educators in Katowice: what topics are key for seniors?

October was an intensive month for the SILWERS project partners, filled with activities supporting digital inclusion and the creation of new educational resources for older adults. One of the highlights of the program was a focus group meeting with educators working with seniors, which took place on October 23 at the University of Economics in Katowice.

The meeting was moderated by Paulina Rutecka, PhD, Eng. The aim of the workshops was to gather practitioners’ opinions on which cybersecurity topics are currently most relevant for developing seniors’ digital competencies, as well as which teaching methods work best with this age group. Through the perspective of individuals who conduct classes for seniors daily, it was possible to capture real barriers, fears, and educational needs.

This activity constituted an important element of the SILWERS project’s research phase. The collected conclusions and recommendations will support the design of educational tools and training materials, ensuring they respond to the real needs of the target audience and are tailored to their learning preferences.
