Phishing – don’t fall for internet scammers!

So how can you protect yourself? Here are a few simple but very effective rules:

  • It is important to remember that no reliable institution will ever ask you to provide your password or PIN via SMS or email.
  • Never click on links in messages that seem suspicious or come from an unknown sender.
  • Never give out your passwords, card numbers, or other personal data to anyone over the phone, email, or SMS.
  • If you receive a message about an account problem, call the official number of the bank or institution to verify the information.
  • Use strong passwords and do not reuse them on different websites.
  • Regularly update the software on your computer and phone to ensure you have the latest protection.
  • If in doubt, ask your family or specialists for help.
  • Remember not to act under the influence of fear or haste — this is often a tool used by fraudsters.

Phishing is very dangerous, but we can defend ourselves against it through knowledge and caution. Always be vigilant and remember that real institutions will never ask us for confidential data in this way.
