First meeting of the SILWERS project partners

In the first week of January, sunny Athens welcomed the participants of the international SILWERS project for the first partners’ meeting. The SILWERS project (Seniors Artificial Intelligence Learning – Well Educated and Risk Secure) was created with the aim of introducing older adults to the world of artificial intelligence (AI) and raising their awareness of cybersecurity. The goal of this initiative is to equip seniors with the knowledge and skills necessary for the safe and informed use of digital technologies, while taking into account their specific needs and limitations.

The first stage of the project work focuses on analyzing the educational needs of seniors in the field of AI and cybersecurity. During the meeting, as part of the Skills Anticipation Workshops, the partners developed the methods and thematic scope for researching the educational needs of the project’s beneficiaries. Which teaching methods to choose for groups of people aged 55+, and how to motivate older adults to exchange experiences with other participants, were among the many topics discussed with external experts—representatives of the Greek government and non-governmental organizations—during the Expert Forums on AI and Cybersecurity.

The results of the discussion conducted during the Expert Forum will be used by the partners to develop innovative educational content, as well as to create an online platform for educators. The SILWERS project is funded under the Erasmus+ KA220-ADU program – Cooperation partnerships in adult education.

The project is implemented through an international partnership led by HASKOLINN A AKUREYRI (Iceland). The other partners are: the University of Economics in Katowice, Social Cooperative Enterprise Drosostalida (Greece), Vzdelavaci centrum Hello s.r.o. (Czech Republic), and TSecurity ehf (Iceland).

Detailed information about the project is available on the website.
