What does the younger generation use AI for?
Younger generations hardly ever put their phones down, and artificial intelligence has become their constant companion and helper. What do they use it for? Here are some of the most popular uses:
Academic help: helping with homework, explaining difficult concepts in simple terms, summarizing an entire chapter from a book and highlighting the most important information, or having a conversation in a foreign language to practice that skill
A creative tool for bringing their ideas to life: creating entirely new images based on their imagination (by giving simple but precise instructions, e.g., “draw a cat in a spacesuit in the Impressionist style”) or modifying existing images (e.g., “add exotic palm trees in the background to this photo”), as well as applying “filters” to images—changing their faces, aging them, making them look younger, or transforming them into fairy-tale characters, for example. And all just for fun! 🙂
Help with creating content: essays, letters, social media posts, or texts for school or work
Personal assistant: from planning gym workouts, to making a shopping list for the whole week, coming up with creative activities for kids, and even planning a family trip for the weekend.
Using AI is a great way to build understanding between generations.
AI doesn’t replace—and will never replace—human interaction, but it can be a great support for social relationships when those in the real world are temporarily limited.
