This feature turns your phone into a live interpreter. It allows you to have a conversation with a person who does not speak Czech.
Model situation: Interview with a foreign tourist or doctor abroad
You’re on a trip and need to ask someone who only speaks English for directions. Or a stranger rings the bell at your home looking for neighbors.
Step-by-step instructions:
- Open the app on your phone.
- Tap the microphone icon (sometimes labeled “Conversation”).
- Set languages: On one side of the display will be “Czech”, on the other side will be a foreign language (e.g. “German”).
- Speak: Tap the microphone icon next to Czech and say in Czech: “Hello, how do I get to the square, please?”
- Phone translates: The phone immediately writes your question in German on the display and then says it out loud in German.
- The foreigner answers: The foreigner taps the microphone in German and answers in his own language. The phone will pick up his speech, write it on the display in Czech and speak it to you in Czech.
- The conversation continues: This is how you can pass the phone and chat fluently.
Use in life:
- Arrangement at the hotel reception abroad.
- Communication with foreign sons-in-law/daughters-in-law or grandchildren, if they do not speak Czech well.
- Buying at a market abroad when you want to ask about the price or composition of goods.
