1. Translation with a camera (I see and understand)

This feature is invaluable when you need to understand written text in a foreign language but don’t want to transcribe it for a long time.

Model situation: Package leaflet for the drug or instructions for use

You received vitamins from your grandchildren abroad, but the box and instructions are only in English or German. You need to know what the dosage is.

Step-by-step instructions:

1. Open an app (e.g., Google Translate or ChatGPT) on your phone.
2. Set languages: Choose which language you want to translate from (e.g. English) and into which (Czech). If you don’t know the language, most apps have a “Detect Language” feature.
3. Tap the camera icon. Your phone may ask you if you’re allowing an app to access your camera – tap “Allow.”
4. Point your phone at the text. Hold your phone steadily over a box or paper with text as if you were going to take a picture of it.
5. Watch the magic: Their Czech translation begins to appear on the phone screen directly over foreign inscriptions. It looks as if the text was written in Czech directly on the box.

Use in life:

• Reading menus on vacation.
• Understanding the inscriptions on food bought in the borderlands.
• Translation of error messages on appliances (e.g. on the washing machine).
